Marian Barnes, President
Marian has been appraising properties for public works projects for ten years in Wisconsin and Michigan. She appraises properties for road and sewer projects as well as appraisals for construction, pipelines, transmission lines, and avigation easements. Types of properties include quarries, agricultural, recreational, and commercial. She has also conducted appraisals for litigation and has testified in court. Prior to appraising, she worked in the environmental field assessing properties for contamination and design, installing, and maintaining remediation systems. She has the MAI and the SR/WA certifications. She received a BA in geology from Albion College, Albion, Michigan and MS in geology from Northern Illinois University.
Craig Andersen, President Elect
Craig is currently the Southeast Region Real Estate Supervisor for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. He oversees all aspects of the regions Acquisition, Relocation and Litigation for all Highway Projects. Craig has also been the Right of Way Manager in the Portland office of the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Prior to working in the Right of Way field Craig was a proprietor of a small appraisal business located in Walworth County, Wisconsin. He worked as an independent appraiser for thirteen years. Craig has been a State of Wisconsin Certified Appraiser since certifications began in 1991.
Kyle Driscoll, Treasurer
Kyle is a managing director at Duff & Phelps in Milwaukee with his primary focus on right of way appraisal services. Kyle has experience in the valuation of general purpose and user-based specialized real estate. He has appraised property in several U.S. states for right of way acquisition, property tax, financial reporting, insurance, and purchase/sale. He has also performed advisory services including market and impact studies as well as pretrial and litigation support for a variety of large right of way projects. Kyle joined American Appraisal (now Duff & Phelps) in 2007. He has a bachelors in business administration from UW Whitewater. He is an MAI.
Laura Humphrey, Secretary
Laura has been an acquisition specialist since 2005 at Right of Way Professionals, Inc., a consulting firm located out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.0 She has been a member of our IRWA chapter since 2006 and has taken numerous IRWA courses to achieve the SR/WA designation in November 2017. Laura has acquired over 1,200 parcels for utilities and state and local units of government throughout the state of Wisconsin and a portion of Michigan. She enjoys managing projects as well as meeting with landowners to help them understand the acquisition process and how the project will impact their property.
Jeff Olson, Past President
Jeff is an appraiser for Compass Land Consultants Inc. for a number of years. He is licensed in a number of states. He often serves as an expert witness for eminent domain cases
